WORK, INCLUSION, AND PASSION: THE SPECIAL JOURNEY OF PIZZAUT

Every year, on April 2nd, the world turns blue to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day—an opportunity to reflect on the importance of recognizing the rights of autistic individuals.

In this context, some stories perfectly embody these values, such as PizzAut, an Italian project that has transformed a dream into a tangible reality of social inclusion.

PIZZAUT: AN INCLUSION PROJECT THROUGH WORK

PizzAut was founded in 2017 by Nico Acampora, a father of an autistic child, with the goal of creating job opportunities through the management of a pizzeria. Driven by love for his son and a desire to build a fairer future for all, Nico turned his personal experience into a concrete project that breaks down prejudices and creates real growth opportunities for young people who are often excluded from the job market.

The PizzAut project goes beyond employment; it aims to train and guide young people on a path to autonomy, strengthening their skills and allowing them to express their full potential. The first restaurant opened in Cassina de’ Pecchi in 2021, followed by a second location in Monza in 2023. Here, autistic individuals work side by side with neurotypical colleagues, proving that barriers often exist only in our minds and can be overcome with the right support and a clear vision.

Beyond the restaurants, PizzAut has launched various initiatives to promote its mission and raise public awareness. These include training programs for businesses and schools, events, and educational projects aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of autism in society.

EXPANSION THROUGH FOOD TRUCKS

With the goal of spreading a clear message worldwide, PizzAut has launched the PizzAutobus project: creating a food truck for each Italian province, totaling 107 vehicles. Each truck can employ up to five people, generating around 500 job opportunities.

StreetFoody, with great enthusiasm and commitment, collaborates with PizzAut to create custom-designed food trucks, optimizing space and facilitating workflow to ensure operational efficiency. The meticulous design and attention to detail—from interior furnishings to equipment layout—aim to provide practical and highly functional solutions, allowing for easy and autonomous operation.

Today, on April 2nd, in celebration of World Autism Awareness Day, StreetFoody is actively supporting the growth of the PizzAutobus project by delivering two more food trucks, ready to create a future with greater opportunities for all.
