StreetFoody at Sigep 2024: gelato trends set to revolutionize the Food Truck Business

Sigep

Even if you didn’t see our booth at Sigep this year – a fixed appointment for over a decade – know that we were there! We didn’t want to miss the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the fair’s atmosphere to capture the most interesting trends in the world of sweets, especially gelato, one of the major highlights in our range.
Between sustainability, artificial intelligence, marketing strategies and new products, gelato truly took the spotlight, bringing along a series of intriguing ideas about its innovations and future.

In short, we managed to capture the new trends that will make a difference, even when it comes to street food in its sweetest version:

  1. Focus on new lifestyles and health

People constantly on the move, seeking healthy yet tasty options, can find the perfect solution in gelato! Fresh fruit, low-sugar options and protein-rich choices directly meet the needs of an increasingly health-conscious and active audience.

  1. International collaborations

The Sigep observatory explored gelato trends in other countries, highlighting the strong appeal of traditional Italian artisanal gelato worldwide. Numerous collaborations between Italy and other countries for the sourcing of high-quality ingredients create a unique and authentic offering. This synergy opens doors to endless growth opportunities abroad.

  1. The new frontier of on-the-go snacks

Another trend gaining popularity is on-the-go gelato snacks, bridging the gap between single servings and finger food. Pralines, ice cream bites, donuts and bars are presented in convenient and practical packaging for consumption while on the move.

It indeed seems that the world of gelato is experiencing a moment of great prosperity, providing us with many ideas to make the experience of street food on wheels even more stimulating! There is room to innovate, stand out and capture a clientele that, as we now know, is seeking quality, health and unique culinary experiences!
