SCAPPO! Coltivatori in cucina: the Food Truck celebrating the Marche region
They were great friends united by their passion for the land, gastronomy, and wine. This is how Scappo! Coltivatori in cucina was born, a project that takes the Marche region on the road throughout Italy. The food truck is the result of a collaboration between two local entities: Cantina Andrea Giorgetti and GastroBi, led by Chef Michele Antonelli.
Founded in 2015 by Andrea and Nicolò, Cantina Andrea Giorgetti is located in the hills of the Marche region, just a few steps from the sea. Their wines reflect the territory: earth and salt combine uniquely within each bottle. The winery is known for its focus on quality and sustainability, with certified organic wines. GastroBi, on the other hand, is more than just a shop. It is a landmark for Marche gastronomy, promoting local, organic, and zero-kilometer products. Michele’s goal is to showcase the region through authentic, sustainable, and seasonally conscious foods and wines.
From the fusion of these two entities, Scappo! comes to life, an ambitious project that promotes the Marche region, genuine products, and sustainability. This is the story of how it was born and the significant milestones it has already achieved in just a few months:
How did the Scappo! project come about?
“We are great friends, and Michele’s shop is just a few kilometers from our winery,” Andrea explains. “Our collaboration started before the food truck, with aperitifs and tastings at the winery, where one would handle the wine and the other the food. The idea for the truck came about to take the Marche region on the road throughout Italy, not only through food but also with regional wines – and we are doing great!”
In recent months, the Scappo! team has told us that they have been very busy with private events, villa parties and that the truck is also used at the winery during tasting events.
The idea behind the Food Truck
“Image, quality, and location are a winning combination. We put a lot of emphasis on presentation, have fun with words and packaging,” the team reveals. The Scappo! Food Truck was decorated with the help of an artist, whose graphics reflect the key concepts of the project, creating a vehicle with a strong character that immediately communicates the values of naturalness, sustainability, and organic quality. On board, you can enjoy various dishes, divided into “Stecchi” and “Fritti”, inspired by traditional Marche recipes. The connection to the territory always remains the main ingredient.
“Street Food Artists” marked Da Vittorio
“Street Food Artists,” promoted by the Cerea family and Michelin restaurant Da Vittorio, is a well-established format that, for eight editions, has offered small and large street food enterprises the opportunity to dress their classic with a touch of glamour, while renowned gastronomic names can reinterpret gourmet dishes in a street food style. This year, over 40 culinary artisans took over the spaces of La Cantalupa, including Scappo! with its new Food Truck.
“I worked with the Cerea family for a year, and we’ve maintained a good relationship,” Michele explains. “I’ve participated in the event with GastroBi in the past, and this year we brought our Scappo! It’s a unique event with a high-level culinary offering and a great selection of food trucks. It’s also an exclusive stage where the top names in global cuisine come together to exchange innovations in our field. We participated with our ‘Stecco di pollo alla cacciatora’, one of our signature dishes.”
Future projects
When it comes to the future, the team has a clear vision. “The intention is to grow,” says Michele. “We receive a lot of requests – either we get a second food truck or we won’t be able to meet all the demands. We’d also like to work during the winter, participating in indoor events and fairs.”
In just a few months, the Scappo! food truck has already achieved great success. The future looks promising for this team, who will continue to bring the flavors and traditions of the Marche region on board their Food Truck!
